2019 Color Of The Year

It’s that time of year again!!! Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams have both released their Color of the Year for 2019 as well as their Color Trends and we are excited! They have each taken different approaches and we are certain there is really something for everyone in these palettes. Let’s take a look at both and break them down…

Benjamin Moore

Benjamin Moore’s Color of The Year for 2019 is Metropolitan AF-690. This grey tone is a fantastic neutral that has a soft sophistication.

“Metropolitan AF-690 emanates nuance, harmony and extravagant ease. Always adaptable, it softens to matte or shimmers with sheen. It’s neutral. It’s understated. It just is. This is color, off-duty.” —Ellen O’Neill, Benjamin Moore & Co.

Supporting the color of the year, is a coordinating palette of 15 colors ranging from soft pink to deep hunter green and navy.

Sherwin Williams

Sherwin William’s Color of The Year for 2019 is Cavern Clay SW 7701. This southwest inspired, warm orange-y hue is a little bit of a throwback to the 70’s, with a simplistic bohemian flair.

“Cavern Clay is an easy way to bring the warmth of the outdoors in,” says Sherwin William’s director of color marketing Sue Wadden. “Envision beaches, canyons and deserts, and sun-washed late summer afternoons.”

The wanderer palette supports Cavern Clay with subtle earthy colors. This warm palette ranges from soft white to denim blue to rich brown.

These are two very different twists on color palettes…which is more your style?
